Liberty Kids

Parent Information

Entrance

There is one access point to the Liberty Kids wing, which is the outdoor Liberty Kids entrance (you can also access it via the stairwell from the youth rooms and kitchen hallway.) Every child and adult must enter through the check in station.

Check-In

Check-In begins 15 minutes prior to each service, check in for 10:30 nursery will close at 10:40.

Parents will use an ipad to print a nametag for each child, and one check-out tag for parents. (You will need this to pick them up.) Each child will take a colored card that corresponds to the appropriate classroom.

Parents should walk each child to their room and sign them in on the classroom sheet.

Check Out

You will pick your child up from their classroom at 10:00 after equipping hour or immediately after service ends. Show your parent tag to your child’s teacher to check them out. You or a teacher should remove your child’s name tag as an official way of checking them out of Liberty Kids.

Classrooms

Classrooms are broken down by age/grade. Children will age up or ”graduate” to a new room after a birthday and/or at the discretion of the parent, teacher(s), and the director of Liberty Kids.

Each class does have a maximum capacity to align with our Child Protection Policy. It rarely happens that we have to fully close a class, but consider arriving a few minutes early to ensure a spot!

Contacting Parents

Each child will have a parent’s phone number associated with their check-in info and printed on their name badge. Teachers will primarily text and/or call parents if an issue arises during the service. Please make sure you have your phone on vibrate or check it periodically in the event that we need to contact you!

We will offer gentle correction and utilize time-outs or similar methods to correct misbehavior in the classroom. You can expect a teacher to talk with you during check-out if your child needed multiple corrections. We genuinely want to partner with you in your kids’ discipleship and have open lines of communication.

What to Bring or Leave With Your Child

Snack and water is provided during equipping group class and during LK Nursery. Sippy cups are provided for those that need it.

Please bring diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and/or a bottle for those young kids who will need them. Be aware that we don’t have access to hot water or a refrigerator in any of our classes.

Please label anything you plan to leave with your child. No outside toys, please.

Snack

We will offer cups of water and snack at both 9am and 10:30. Sippy cups are provided for those that need them.
(We always have veggie straws available in the case of dairy or gluten allergies. If you’d like to provide a snack for your child, please bring it in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child’s name.)

Bible Memory

We will use Seeds Kids Worship for Bible Memory together throughout the year! Every age will memorize the same Bible verses. This will be part of the lesson each week. Parents will be able to take home the new Bible memory card each month to practice at home!

Curriculum

Preschool through 5th Grade uses The Biggest Story Bible Curriculum to dive deeper into one Bible story each week.

Babies through 3 year olds use A Sure Foundation by Truth78 to teach one biblical truth each week.

Every age group memorizes the same Bible verse each month with an accompanying Seeds Kids Worship song.

Children with Disabilities or Special Needs

If your child has specific needs of any kind, know that we want to accommodate each child that wishes to participate in Liberty Kids!
Since no two children have exactly the same needs, we encourage you to reach out to the Director of Liberty Kids before your first visit to touch base and let Alyssa know how we can be most helpful to your family: alyssa@lbcliberty.org

Parent Resource Station

There is a table in the Liberty Kids wing with resources available for you to access anytime, including:

  • Liberty Kids information for new families

  • Suggested resources for family worship- used and loved by LBC families

  • This month’s Bible Memory verse card

Graduating to the Worship Service

We are ready and expecting older kids to attend the worship gathering with us each week. We encourage you to transition your children to participate around the age of 4. If you have questions or concerns about this, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Director of Liberty Kids for some help!

Sick Policy

Children should not be in Liberty Kids if they:

  • have had a fever or temperature above 99.9 in the past 24 hours,

  • have thrown up in the past 6 hours or are experiencing nausea, or

  • are known to have a sickness (and/or rash) that could spread to others

We will call you to collect your child from Liberty Kids if they exhibit any of these symptoms.
