Equipping Classes

In Ephesians 4:12, Paul encourages pastors to equip Christians so that they can do the work of the ministry. In other words, he wants believers prepared to live in this world as faithful disciples of Christ. The purpose of Equipping Groups is to work toward this goal, and we achieve it by offering courses that delve into three tracks of study: Biblical Studies, Theology & Doctrine, and Practical Discipleship.

  • Every Christian is called to make disciples — but what does that actually look like? From March through May, we will build on the foundation of the gospel to help us define and motivate discipleship. This class will tackle the barriers that hold us back, and offer application for the everyday contexts where discipleship happens: the church, the home, and one-on-one relationships. We'll discuss the core aims of discipleship: Bible study, prayer, and evangelism, and close with practical guidance for discipling others, including those who are hurting. Come ready to be equipped and encouraged!

  • The book of 1 Samuel spans one of the most turbulent seasons in Israel's history—from the corruption of the priesthood to the rise of the first anointed kings over God's people. Through it all, God is sovereign, faithful, and working in and through deeply flawed people. From March through May, we will study 1 Samuel passage by passage, with the hope that as we see God's faithfulness to his people then, our own faith will be strengthened and our pursuit of holiness renewed

  • We continue our study of the Old Testament. As we trace God’s plan of redemption, students will be led through portions of Ezra, Haggai, Zechariah, Esther, Nehemiah, Malachi, Matthew, Luke & John, taught to ask questions and make observations of the text, and guided in learning how God’s Word applies to their lives. Let’s pray for our students as they continue to learn how to study Scripture!
