DAVID serves Liberty Baptist Church as a Lay Pastor

David came to know the Lord as a child through the testimony and heritage of faithful parents. He understood the power of Christ to save, which birthed in him passions to make the name of Jesus known and to glorify God with music. Shortly after his graduation from high school, David was grieved by the emphasis he saw in the American church on ‘doing’ the right things and the absence of gospel-centered teaching he heard from the pulpit and in worship. He felt the responsibility under God to serve the church by attempting to recover the centrality of the Gospel in the life of the church.

David was called as the worship leader of LBC in September 2013, leading the church’s Sunday morning worship and managing the worship team and the audio video crew until February 2019. He became a pastor at LBC in March 2017 and now serves as a Lay-Pastor, to teach, preach, and care for members as needs arise. During his time at LBC, David has enjoyed seeing people’s eyes opened to new aspects of the Gospel and witnessing members’ growing affection for Jesus. David has loved to watch God multiply this process in the lives of LBC’s members, driving the church to greater obedience to Him. David prays regularly that LBC would be unified and grow in mutual love, so that the Spirit’s work in the body is not hindered by Satan.

Outside of his ministry in the church, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Margaret, and their three children, Katie, Jack, and Seamus. As a self-proclaimed dork, David enjoys hobbies such as cartography (he is currently hand-drawing a map of Italy from the mid-Renaissance period), reading, and writing short stories for his children. David is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Spurgeon College.
