Yesterday, I received a lot of feedback and questions regarding my sermon on 1 Samuel 28—Saul and the witch of Endor. I think that one reason for this is because of the unusual nature of this passage. It’s not often that you hear someone talking about (let alone preaching on) the dangers of conducting a séance.

I had to do a lot of research in order to prepare for this sermon, more than usual. So I wanted to share some of the resources I consulted so that those wanting to study this passage and topic more in-depth could do so.

"What's Up with the Witch of Endor" by Stephen Dempster

"How Do You Explain the Witch of Endor?" by Dale Ralph Davis

"Hearing Scripture Anew in the Story of the Woman of Endor" by Alistair Roberts

"Did Israel's King Consult a Witch?" by John Piper

"Bewitched" This is an excellent sermon preached by William Goligher.

Wayne Grudem also has Systematic Theology podcast and in three episodes he discusses Satan and demons.
