April members’ meeting

Plan to attend the April Members’ Meeting on Sunday, April 21st at 5:00pm. All relevant updates will be delivered prior to any action items that will be discussed. Join us as we conduct the Kingdom business of our church! If you cannot make it to the meeting, you can send an email to Muangkong and he will send you the link to the recording as soon as possible.

baby shower for sarah callarman

Join us for a baby shower, honoring Sarah Callarman, on May 4th at 10AM in the Fellowship Hall! Please RSVP by 4/28 to (501) 860-1413. Feel free to reach out to Kaylee Freeman or Jessica Ward if you have any questions. Hope to have you all there with us!

ptc spring preaching lab

The Pastoral Training Center residents’ final preaching lab will be held at the church on Saturday, April 20, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (with a break for lunch). All seven of our residents will be preaching 30-minute sermons on a variety of texts and Pastor Jared and others will be evaluating. This is a great opportunity to hear some good biblical preaching, support and encourage our residents by giving them an audience to preach to, and learn more about the preaching process yourself as you listen in on live feedback. Come for the whole thing or just part; it’s a "come and go” event.

All-Church spring workday

We have the opportunity to care for what God has given us in our church property and grounds by serving in a workday on April 27th! All ages and skillsets are welcome. The day will span from 9am-3pm, and members are welcome to participate for as little or as much of that time as desired. Lunch will be provided. For any questions, contact our Deacons Bradley Allen or Travis Moses.

Recommended Resources

We have six recommended resources during the month of April. First, How Can I Love Church Members with Different Politics? by Jonathan Leeman and Andy Naselli. Leeman and Naselli propose that Christians should learn how to disagree on such issues with a spirit of gracious understanding by recognizing the importance of what binds us together as a local church body―the gospel of Jesus Christ. The second is How Can I Get More Out of My Bible Reading? by Jeremy Kimble. In this short booklet, Kimble explains how the church acts as God’s school, helping us read and follow Scripture through teaching, fellowship, and discipleship. The third book is What Is the Church's Mission? by Jonathan Leeman. In this short book, Leeman argues from Scripture that the mission of the church is first and foremost to make disciples―the task that each local assembly is called to do collectively―and to be disciples―the task for each individual Christian. The fourth book is How Can I Serve My Church? by Matthew Emadi. In this short booklet, Emadi explains the vital roles we play within the church. The fifth book is Susannah Spurgeon: The Pastor's Wife Who Didn't Let Sickness Stop Her by Mary K. Mohlor. This book is part of a series designed to show kids that God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. The final book is Ask Pastor John: 750 Bible Answers to Life's Most Important Questions by Tony Reinke. In this unique book, Reinke summarizes and organizes ten years of their most insightful and popular episodes into accessible, thematic sections.
